Nina DiGregorio is best known for pioneering the electric rock violin, but she’s also an accomplished bassist. DiGregorio teamed up with multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Brody Dolyniuk for this killer cover of Rush’s “Limelight.”

Tedeschi Trucks Band took the stage at Red Rocks on July 29th, and cameras were rolling. Here’s the band, anchored by Brandon Boone, performing “Anyhow” and “Statesboro Blues.”

In April, Victor Wooten and Gregg Bissonette took the stage at Canyon High School. Joined by students, here’s the full performance.

Postmodern Jukebox was joined by Nashville bassist/vocalist Wild Bill for a fun “ragtime-meets-rockabilly country/western remake” of The Bee Gees’ tune, “Stayin’ Alive.”

Polyphia’s “Remember That You Will Die” is a record that stayed on my turntable a lot after its release. So I was glad to see the band drop this full concert video from their performance at The Factory in Deep Ellum.

Here’s another great video by the Playing For Change Band performing live at Billboard Live in Osaka, Japan. In this clip, the band takes on the Ray Charles classic, “A Fool For You.”

Frowin Ickler sent in today’s video, and it is impressive. Here’s his solo bass performance of “Intercontinental Raga,” inspired by John McLaughlin’s Shakti project. The Jens Schönitz acoustic bass sounds fantastic too.

Charles Berthoud took Linkin Park’s “In The End” and made it unique. Joined by guitarist Bernth, Charles navigates the song using many techniques.

On July 4th, Nate Smith, Cory Wong, and Victor Wooten performed at Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Here’s a great clip of the trio during that performance (with an extended drum solo by Smith).

Antoine Baril always knocks me out with his impressive skill on multiple instruments. In this video, he kicks things up a notch with a “One Man ELP” performance. Baril performed this using Keith Emerson’s rig!

Ellen Alaverdyan is back with another cover, and like all of her previous ones, her skills and enthusiasm are on full display. Here she is taking on “Darling Dear” in dedication to James Jamerson.

The dynamic duo of Evan Marien and Dana Hawkins is back with a new video. Filmed live at Nublu 151 in NYC on July 24, 2023, here’s their performance of Marien’s “Bouncin’.”
