Ever wanted to play along side Billy Corgan in the Smashing Pumpkins? Well your big chance has arrived! Corgan has announced that the band will be having open auditions for a new bassist, as well as a new keyboardist. Smashing Pumpkins bassist Ginger Pooley just had a baby and wants to raise her child without being on the road. She will be temporarily replaced with Electric Prunes bassist Mark Tulin until a permanent player is found.
In case you are worried you won’t fit in, Corgan assures a fair audition process.
“We were lucky enough to find drummer Mike Byrne through an open audition process,” said Corgan, “so why not open the doors again to anyone who might be interested for the bass or keyboard position? As you can see from our past and present, age, race, or a person’s background is not an issue. Everyone is truly welcome to audition.”
All submissions, which are due by March 31st, need to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your background info, a resume, and performance clips of yourself. Only musicians with video clips will be considered. Good luck!
