Rufus Reid Announces “Out Front” Fall 2010 Tour
Jazz bassist Rufus Reid has announced a Fall 2010 tour in support of his latest album, Out Front, which he released in March of this year. Rufus will be making his way around the west coast, starting in Canada and working his way down to San Diego, CA.
The tour features the same trio from the album, with Steve Allee on piano and Duduka Da Fonseca on drums. They originally came together for a single gig in Texas, but the groove fit so well that they came back together for this project, in which they all contribute compositions.
Reid has been a mainstay on the jazz scene since the ‘70s as well as being one of the best music educators in the genre. His method book, The Evolving Bassist, is one of the most recommended primers for budding jazz bass players.
