Magnus Sjöquist: “Amazing Grace” on a U-Bass

Magnus Sjöquist is a U-Bass master. Our Facebook friend John Stam sent this video of Sjöquist kicking out a groove in tribute to the Victor Wooten arrangement of “Amazing Grace.”

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

  1. Thanks for the feature notreble :-)

  2. Nice job. Really impressed with the tone of these. Leland Sklar plays three models of the U -bass on a YouTube clip from the NAMM show, but only very briefly. Gotta found out who sells these in my town (Edmonton, AB).
