Paul McCartney’s “Out There” Tour is set to hit the U.S. this summer.
The U.S. leg opens June 14 with McCartney’s first-ever performance in Lubbock, Texas, hometown of rock and roll icon Buddy Holly. McCartney, who requested to play the city, is a well-known fan of Holly’s work and owns Holly’s music publishing catalog.
The Lubbock show and dates in Dallas; New Orleans; Atlanta; Jacksonville, FL; Louisville, KY; Albany, NY and Pittsburgh are already sold out. Tickets for the Aug. 12 Phoenix show have just gone on sale, and tickets for Paul’s first-ever show in Missoula, MT (Aug. 5), went on sale Friday, May 9.
The tour promises music from all era’s of McCartney’s storied career, from his days as a Beatle to his time with Wings, to his most recent solo album, New. Find all the date/ticket info at McCartney’s website.
With this tour year, a new book on McCartney’s bass work has emerged from author Dennis Alstrand. The Beatles and Their Revolutionary Bass Player developed from Alstrand’s website and focuses exclusively on McCartney’s bass playing.
