Alusonic Introduces Django Bass Guitar

Italy’s Alusonic Aluminum Instruments has introduced the Django bass guitar. The model aims to bring handmade quality to an affordable price point.

Alusonic Django Bass Black

The bolt-on bass is built with an alder body, a hard maple neck, and a grade A ebony fingerboard. It comes in matte black, high gloss black and high gloss white finishes, adorned with a PVC mirror or 3-ply black pickguard.

Central to the Django’s design is its flexible pickup system, which includes an Alnico 5 humbucker in the bridge position and an Alnico5 stacked coil in the neck position. A 5-way toggle switch allows for five pickup variations: the bridge humbucker, the humbucker plus stacked neck pickup, the stacked neck pickup, the bridge as a split coil and the stacked neck pickup, or the bridge as a split coil alone. It operates in passive or active modes with bass and treble cut/boost knobs.

The Alusonic Django bass guitar will be available with an introductory price of approximately $951 and a list price of closer to $1,162.

  1. Damn, if it’s playable then Alusonic have managed to give us a MM style option in the sweet spot as it were (no pun intended) between Sterling and Music Man models pricing. Plus it has a full two octave neck. Damn, which I could get my hands on one of these beauties for a test drive.

  2. They might be on to something here. Good price-point, European-made, attention to detail….

This a really nice bass , I sure wish my new Fender had that bridge.
Humbucker’s are nice but I still prefer the two single coil but I never tried the Alnico5 Stacked Coil. Wish I could play this bass to see how it sounds and feels.
