Bass of the Week: Alusonic Aluminum Instruments Django DC
Italy’s Alusonic Instruments specializes in building basses with aluminum. That includes the Django DC model, which was made for bassist David Caraccio.
Its alder body is topped with a gold anodized aircraft-grade aluminum top, it’s also built with a hard maple neck (reinforced with aluminum rods) and a matte black epoxy lacquer fingerboard.
Electronics include a pair of Alusonic “hybrid” Alnico5/neodymium pickups with a five-way selector switch. Other features include aluminum hardware, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, and Luminlay dot inlays.
