Bass of the Week: Alusonic’s The Doom 4 Offers Sleek Looks and a Modern Headless Build

Alusonic The Doom 4 Body

Alusonic Instruments shared one of their latest builds on Facebook that stopped me in my tracks. This Doom 4 model was given a white finish and a gold pickguard to add a classy touch to its rockin’ style.

The headless four-string is built with a select alder body complete with an aluminum top. Its hard maple neck is reinforced with graphite rods and fitted with Graphitex fretboard. A multi-scale neck stretches the string lengths from 34 inches at the G string to 36 inches for the E. The 24 frets are marked only with Luminlay side dots. Alusonic fitted the bass with a pair of its ceramic and steel dual coil pickups with a three-band EQ.

Other features include a Riviera Gear Headless System, Optima 24k gold strings, and gold hardware. All in, the Doom 4 weighs just 6.8 pounds.
