The Wood Brothers Release Live Album, Announce Tour Dates

The Wood Brothers: Live At The BarnThe Wood Brothers are back with a new live album and tour for 2017. The trio of guitarist Oliver Wood, bassist Chris Wood, and drummer Jano Rix have just released Live At The Barn, which sees the band performing at a beautiful and bittersweet venue.

Late drummer/vocalist Levon Helm regularly featured the Wood Brothers at his barn in Woodstock, New York for his Midnight Ramble sessions. The new album was the first performance for the band at the barn since Helm’s passing.

“We’re huge fans of Levon’s and count him as a big influence,” Oliver explains. “Since we actually got to know him, his influence was more than musical—it was personal. He was one of those unique and powerful personalities, and I’ll always remember how gracious he was. We also got to know Levon’s daughter Amy quite well and have had great tours and collaborations with her. She’s a beautiful soul just like her dad, and we have fond memories of playing with both of them in that barn.” The trio is in rare form, bringing serious thunder in the final track, “Ophelia,” which Helm made famous with The Band.

Their tour will kick off February 2nd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before snaking up and down the East Coast, heading to the West Coast, and wrapping up back on the East. The final date on their tour is April 8th in Savannah, Georgia for the Savannah Music Festival.

Live at the Barn is available as a digital download via iTunes and Amazon MP3.
