Ashdown Announces Norman Watt-Roy Special Edition OriginAL Pre-DI

Ashdown Engineering Norman Watt-Roy Pre-Di Pedal

Ashdown has expanded their lineup of signature gear with the Norman Watt-Roy Special Edition OriginAL Pre-Di. Watt-Roy, who is best known as the bassist for Ian Dury and the Blockheads, helped create the unit.

“Strictly limited to a run of 50 special units, the special edition Norman Watt-Roy OriginAL Preamp Pedal has been tweaked to Norman’s specification,” Ashdown writes. “As such, the input sensitivity has been optimized to suit Norman’s unique and lightning fast finger style.” It will also come with an anodized aluminum front panel finished in Shoreline Gold to match the bassist’s 1962 Fender Jazz.

Other features from the pedal include a five-band EQ, a 12AX7 powered tube drive, an XLR output with ground lift, headphone output, and auxiliary input. The Ashdown Norman Watt-Roy OriginAL Preamp Pedal will be available soon with a TBA price point.
