Neon River: Pinkamen

Neon River is a new band formed by bassist Matteo Mazzù of The Netherlands, keyboardist Chaerin Im from South Korea, and drummer Pedro Nobre from Portugal. Drawing on inspiration from artists like Soccer96, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Saya Gray, and Squarepusher, the band describes their music as Electronic Indie Dance experimentation.

Today, we’re sharing their first video, which is a live session for the song “Pinkamen.” Mazzù offers a wide palette of sounds from the bass to anchor and shape the song’s tone.

“Bass wise, this project allows me to dive deeper into effects, covering a lot of sonic territory inspired by analog synths but also guitar and other string instruments,” he shares. “The gear used in this video is a Moollon P Classic into a Markbass SA450 head and Tecamp 210 cab. Pedals used are: 3leaf audio Octavbre, Ehx POG, Zvex Mastotron, Iron Ether Xerograph, Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter, Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport and a Meris Mercury7.”

We’re looking forward to hearing more from Neon River!
