Goodfellas Meets Badfinger? Tony Senatore Covers “No Matter What” with a Larry Hartke Cameo

Tony Senatore has shared another standout video showcasing his talents as a bassist and vocalist. This time, he performs Badfinger’s classic hit “No Matter What.”

“Since my ‘singing video‘ was in the No Treble top 10 last year, I decided to continue making videos as a lead singer/bassist,” he shared.

This latest performance brings a unique twist. The video pays homage to the golden era of MTV while incorporating a Goodfellas-inspired storyline.

“This video was very special because the legendary Larry Hartke made a cameo appearance at the end. This video is a throwback to the 80s and the glory days of MTV. The backstory on the theme of the video is that my friend Tom and I lead two crime families; Tom is the NYC boss, and I am the NJ boss. Tom is angry that I used a pink instrument cable and wants me to back down, which I do not. Larry Hartke appears at the end, discussing how sad it would be if a hit is put on me because he will have nobody to teach him songs he can’t learn. It is all in good fun, based on the movie ‘Goodfellas.'”

Alongside the theme, the video showcases Senatore’s signature bass tone.

“In the video, I used my modified Hamer bass, with original Fred Hammon DarkStar pickups, wired for stereo, and Pyramid Gold Flatwound strings, which are the best I have ever used. I believe these strings were vital to the great bass tone of this video.”
