Catalinbread Wake Chorus: An Eight-Voice Pedal with Octave Depth for Bassists and Shoegaze Fans

Catlinbread is making waves with a new chorus pedal called the Wake. The effect is inspired by the sound of shoegaze music that was “bathed in digital rack choruses.” It’s an eight-voice chorus that works well as an “always-on” pedal to thicken up your tone.
“Many analog chorus units sound too much like an ‘effect,’ which is why some people turn their noses up at the thought,” Catalinbread writes. “The Wake aims to integrate effortlessly into any setup and provide a foundational building block that livens up your playing without sounding like total cheese. It’s easy to dial in, easy to leave on, and easy to get lost in.”
Another unique aspect of the Wake is the implementation of a mixable octave-down control to add more depth. You can hear the Wake in action in this demo. While most of this AndyDemos clip focuses on the guitar, he also uses it on the bass.
The Catalinbread Wake Chorus is available now for $199.99.
