The SansAmp Classic Returns: Tech 21 Revives Its Foundational Pedal in 2026

Tech 21 SansAmp ClassicAfter a hiatus in production, Tech 21 will be reintroducing the SansAmp Classic for a limited run in early 2026. The model, first introduced 37 years ago, remains virtually unchanged and is still made in the USA, the company writes.

“The all-analog SansAmp Classic pedal design is B. Andrew Barta’s unique invention that was the catalyst for the whole ‘going direct’ movement way back in 1989,” Tech 21 states. “Since then, SansAmp evolved into an extensive line of pedals and racks, as well as being the essential element of Tech 21’s Fly Rig series.”

The SansAmp Classic features a bank of eight Character switches to adjust your tone, harmonics and dynamics. A three-position input switch offers Lead, Normal, or Bass preamp styles, then four knobs shape the preamp contours, power amp contours, volume, and master tone.

The Tech 21 SansAmp Classic will be shipping in late January to early February 2026.
