Tech 21 Marks 20 Years of the Para Driver DI with Limited Edition Pedal

Back in 2005, Tech 21 expanded its SansAmp lineup with the Para Driver DI, which evolved out of the SansAmp Acoustic DI. Now, the company is celebrating the design with the Para Driver DI 20th Anniversary pedal. The commemorative pedal will be limited to just 500 units with an anodized aluminum billet housing and metal knobs.
Featuring all-analog circuitry, the Para Driver DI is useful for bass, guitar, and other instruments. Tech 21 says it is particularly useful for instruments like the upright bass that use piezo pickups as the circuit eliminates unnatural harmonics.
“The SansAmp Para Driver dials up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and everything in between. There are three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig,” the company writes. “Controls include Active Bass & Treble, cut or boost ±12dB; sweepable semi-parametric EQ controls, Mid Shift & Mid, range from 160Hz to 3.0 kHz, ±16dB, respectively. Blend controls the ratio of SansAmp emulation circuitry with the direct instrument signal. There’s a 1/4-inch 4.7 megOhm instrument level input, as well as 1/4” and XLR outputs with selectable levels, and a parallel, uneffected output to run a dry signal to a separate channel.”
The Tech 21 Para Driver DI 20th Anniversary pedal will be shipping in October or November with a price point of $319.
