Pino Palladino Joins Dave Grohl and John Mayer for Ed Sheeran’s “Drive”

Ed Sheeran rolled into Jimmy Kimmel with a pretty ridiculous band to play “Drive” from F1 The Movie. On bass was Pino Palladino, joined by Dave Grohl on drums, John Mayer on guitar, Rami Jaffee on keys, and Blake Slatkin holding things together.

It is one of those lineups that makes you do a double take, but nobody onstage is trying to steal the spotlight even though they are all rockstars. Pino lays it down deep, clean, and calm. Grohl brings the muscle, Mayer keeps things tasteful, and Sheeran leans into the rock vibe more than usual.
