Cory Wong’s Syncopated Summer Camp Returns With Joe Dart, Victor Wooten, and More

Syncopated Summer Camp 2026

Vulfpeck guitarist Cory Wong has announced the return of the Syncopated Summer Camp, a four-day experience scheduled for August 13-16, 2026, at the Fairmont San Francisco. The camp is for “music fans, rhythm players, and enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels for an unparalleled deep dive into rhythm, groove, and musicianship,” according to a press release.

The third edition of the Syncopated Summer Camp will be the most comprehensive yet, with an expanded faculty and curriculum. The bass faculty includes Wong’s longtime collaborators Yohannes Tona, Joe Dart, and Ian Martin Allison. Bass guru Victor Wooten will also be a special guest, but fans of the low end will also learn from an incredible list of rhythm section players: guitarists Eric Krasno, Ariel Posen, and Mark Lettieri; drummers Nate Smith and Petar Janjic; and keyboardists Kevin Gastonguay and Julian Pollack (J3PO). Other special guests include the Fearless Flyers, Joey Dosik, Dennis Chambers, and David Garibaldi.

“This camp is for musicians who want to further develop their skills on guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards,” said Wong. “If you know me at all, you know that I am very passionate about rhythm, groove, pocket, and time feel. We are going to discuss and explore all of these topics and more. I’ve handpicked all of the instructors not only for their experience and expertise but also for their ability to articulate how and why they do the things they do.”

Each day of the camp includes daily breakout classes for each instrument, masterclasses and Q&A sessions with faculty and guests, and private performances by the artists. Nightly instructor-led jam sessions will focus on specific themes, making for a fun and instructional evening.

“This camp isn’t about competition or pressure,” Wong emphasized. “It’s about learning, playing, listening, connecting, and getting inspired in a supportive, non-competitive environment. We’re here to celebrate the joy of music, the beauty of rhythm, and the magic that happens when people get together and play.”

Registration for the Syncopated Summer Camp is open now with packages ranging from commuter options to luxury suite accomodations. For more info and to see a typical day’s schedule, visit the Syncopated Summer Camp website.
