Sadowsky Debuts MetroExpress 6-String Bass Line with Modern and Vintage J/J Models

After two years of prototyping, Sadowsky has introduced the MetroExpress six-string bass. The line was developed with input from Steve Bailey and reflects a “careful approach to design and material choices rather than a sudden shift,” the company writes. The result is two models that come in at a lower price point than the MetroLine series.

Sadowsky offers the MetroExpress 24-Fret Modern Bass with soapbar pickups situated closer to the bridge for a more focused tone. The MetroExpress 24-Fret Vintage J/J Bass is a more traditional J-style layout with hum-cancelling single-coils in familiar positions.

“Both models share the same core build: an okoume body, roasted maple neck, and the option of a roasted maple or morado fingerboard,” Sadowsky writes. “With 24 frets and a layout that still leaves room for comfortable playing, the instruments are designed to cover a broad tonal range without overcomplicating things. It’s a measured expansion of the lineup, giving players a six-string option that sits comfortably within reach.”
