Mike Watt’s New Band Casa Sueño Announces First Tour
Punk icon Mike Watt will be back on the road this fall with a new band called Casa Sueño, which features guitarist Mike Baggetta and drummer John Herndon. The bassist, known for his time in Minutemen and many other projects, has been touring with Baggetta the last few years in mssv. Casa Sueño formed late last year and has already recorded a 7-inch called House Of Dreams, due on Nomad Eel Records later this year.
“With inspiration from their name coming from minimalist composer La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela’s long-running drone and art installation in NYC, the new music of Casa Sueño exists in a blissful mix of fearless improvisation, feverishly limitless grooves and otherworldly psychedelic song forms,” the band’s website explains. “These three wish granters are excited to bring you this brand new music very soon…”
The tour will kick off September 17th in San Pedro, California at The Sardine. They will head south as far as Tijuana, Mexico before turning north to reach Vancouver, British Columbia. The trio will wrap up in Southern California again with a show on October 10th at Zebulon in Los Angeles.
