Rush Releases “Sector” Box Sets from Mercury Records Career

Rush is having one busy November. Following the release of Time Machine 2011 – Live in Cleveland, the trio of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart are reissuing their first fifteen albums from their 14-year run with Mercury Records.

Sectors is broken down into three separate six-disc box sets, each including five CDs in release order, with a bonus 5.1 surround sound DVD of one of the albums in each set. All of the albums on the three Sector sets have been transferred to high resolution 96kHz/24-bit and digitally premastered. Each volume includes an extensive booklet of unpublished photos, original album lyrics and credits. Each album is packaged in a replica vinyl mini-jacket, and all three sets combine to form a Rush CD road case.

Sector 1 includes the band’s self titled debut, Rush (1974), Fly By Night (1975), Caress of Steel (1975), 2112 (1976) and the double live album All the World’s a Stage (1976). The DVD for this set is a 5.1 surround sound version of Fly by Night.

Sector 2 includes A Farewell to Kings (1977), Hemispheres (1978), Permanent Waves (1980), Moving Pictures (1981) and the double live album Exit… Stage Left (1981). The bonus DVD for Sector 2 is A Farewell to Kings.

Sector 3 includes Signals (1982), Grace Under Pressure (1984), Power Windows (1985), Hold Your Fire (1987) and the double live album A Show of Hands (1988). The bonus DVD for Sector 3 is Signals.

Rush has sold more the 40 million records over their career, making them one of the most successful bands of all time. Their next album, Clockwork Angels is due out next year.
