This has been a great week for bassist birthdays. Last but not least, we’re celebrating Michael Anthony’s today!
After his time in Van Halen, Anthony teamed up with former Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Joe Satriani to form Chickenfoot. The bassist’s muscular bass lines and signature harmony vocals really shine on this version of “Soap on a Rope,” taken from the live DVD Get Your Buzz On.
He’s been rocking for over four decades, and you can tell he’s still loving every minute of it.
