Ibanez Revamps BTB Basses For 2017
Ibanez’s BTB Standard series is getting a facelift for 2017 with several new features across the line. The BTB845, BTB846, BTB745, and BTB746 all have a new refined body arch, a zero fret, and come standard with D’Addario NYXL strings.
Each of the basses are still constructed with a neck-through design featuring a five-piece maple/rosewood neck and an Ash body. The 800-series instruments are set apart by a poplar burl top in Deep Twilight Low Gloss finish, while the 700-series series sports a walnut top in a natural low gloss.
Other common aspects include a rosewood fretboard with abalone dot inlays, Bartolini BH2 pickups, an Ibanez 3-band EQ with mid-frequency switch, and mono-rail V bridges.
U.S. price points have not been announced but are expected in the $800 to $900 range.
