Amptweaker Expands JR Distortion Series

Amptweaker has grown their distortion pedal line with several new, compact JR Distortion models. The new set includes the Bass TightFuzz Jr and the Bass BluesFuzz Jr.
“Like the other JR pedals, they’re housed in a smaller lightweight ‘phase 90’ sized package, but still include most of the popular tones available with their big brothers,” Amptweaker writes. “The bass versions include the popular Dry Low blend, which helps maintain the low end while allowing the distortion to be chunky and tight.”
Each of the pedals has a three-position Fat/Normal/Tight switch for setting your attack. The TightFuzz model has an EQ switch to switch between 60’s, 70’s, or modern tone curves. It also has a Germanium/Silicon switch to change the output transistor. The Bass BluesFuzz Jr. uses a lower gain germanium transistor, which the company says is excellent for a “cleaner bluesey tone.” It is EQ’ed specifically for the bass and has a boost switch and a mid control.
