Intronaut’s Joe Lester Joins Secret Chiefs 3 For Summer Tour
Fretless bassist Joe Lester has announced he will will be holding down the low end for Secret Chiefs 3 this summer. The Intronaut bassist made the announcement on his Facebook page.
“Those who know me well could easily tell you that Secret Chiefs 3 are one of my all-time favorite bands,” he wrote. “Their utterly unique marriage of disparate musical influences ranging from Turkish, Afghani, Iranian and Arabic folk music, Hindustani classical music and eastern European folk stylings all the way to rock, jazz, surf, metal, electronic music and cinematic scoring makes them one of the most stimulating and compositionally fascinating artists I’ve ever encountered. After having grown up as a Mr. Bungle fan in high school, I learned of SC3 at the tender age 18, and have loved them ever since. So, it is with the utmost pleasure that I announce that I will be joining Trey Spruance & company on stage and playing bass for Secret Chiefs 3 this summer on tour with the incredible Dead Cross! Hope to see you all there out on the road this summer!”

Lester and the band will be supporting Dead Cross on tour, which includes vocalist Mike Patton, guitarist Mike Crain, drummer Dave Lombardo, and bassist Justin Pearson.
