Cort Guitars Now Shipping A5 Plus SCFF Bass
Cort Guitars has expanded their Artisan Bass Collection to include a fanned-fret design. The A5 Plus SCFF is a five-string bass that has a scale that spans from 34 inches on the G string to 35.5 inches on the B string.
“This design modification and a corresponding single-string hardtail bridge improve tension and enhance the tonal response of each string,” the company writes. “The A5 Plus SCFF also incorporates the series neck-thru-body construction that allows strings to vibrate across the neck and body in a coherent, linear manner, maximizing tightness of the low-end with rich mids and singing highs.”
Its singlecut body is built with swamp ash wings topped with spalted maple. The neck is a five-piece laminate made of maple and panga panga, which is also used for the fingerboard. Cort stocks the A5 Plus SCFF with a pair of Bartolini MK-1 pickups matched to its corresponding MK-1 preamp.
The Cort A5 Plus SCFF Bass is shipping now for $1,499.
