Bailey, Wooten, and Patitucci To Host Billy Cobham Webinar

The Berklee Bass Department’s weekly webinar will return this Thursday, April 22nd with a special roundtable featuring drum legend Billy Cobham and his bassists. As always, the free event will be held on Zoom and hosted by the great Steve Bailey, Victor Wooten, and John Patitucci.
“Billy Cobham is one of the few who singlehandedly changed the direction of Modern Drumming,” the BBD writes. “Who better to explore this rhythmic Icon than some of the bassists with whom he made History. Ron Carter, Lee Sklar, Alex Blake, and more, have collectively made hundreds of hours of classic recordings. This in depth glimpse into their groove and relationship will be mind bending. More of contemporary music’s Greatest Drummers will also stop in to share how Billy inspired and instructed them.”
Carter, Sklar, and Blake will also be on hand to discuss playing with Cobham. Many drummers will also weigh in with amazing surprise guests dropping in.
The webinar is free and open to the public, but you must register ahead of time via Berklee’s Zoom page.
