Robert DeLeo Working on Solo Album

Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo is nearing completion on his debut solo album. The rocker shared the news on his Instagram, where offered a sneak peek of the project. He’s completed 10 out of the twelve songs, including “Anew”, which he previewed.
“Finishing up the song Anew from my upcoming record with the great cello playing of Dave Eggar,” DeLeo wrote. “Strings and Vocal of Kara Britz soloed out in the chorus. Also the brilliant piano playing of friend Bill Appleberry. Done!”
The music is mostly acoustic, with DeLeo telling Bass Player Magazine last year that it will all feature acoustic bass and guitarrón. That’s the same approach as STP’s latest record, Perdida, which was acoustic and largely recorded with vintage instruments.
We’ll keep you updated with more details as they become available.
