The Winery Dogs Return with “III”
After much anticipation, The Winery Dogs have released their third album, simply titled III. While they have toured some over the last few years, it breaks a seven-year gap in studio records for the trio, which features Ritchie Kotzen, Mike Portnoy, and Billy Sheehan.
III was created during face-to-face sessions as opposed to remotely, giving the music a more personal feel.
“I’d like our listeners to be transported in a way that they can experience what we are going through,” Sheehan says. “Our records are snapshots of life, and how we’re living it. Our music reflects what’s important to us, and what isn’t.”
If you haven’t caught The Winery Dogs before, check out “Mad World” from the new album, featuring Sheehan’s brilliant playing and some bass shredding over the outro:
In addition to the new album, The Winery Dogs are about to embark on a hefty world tour that will take them across the U.S. before heading to South America and Europe. See below for the full dates.
III is available now on CD and as a digital download (iTunes and Amazon MP3). A vinyl edition will be out in the next few months.
