Gear Watch: Schecter Raiden Special and Elite basses

Schecter has announced the new Raiden Special and Raiden Elite basses, geared towards the “feature driven, price conscious player.” Both basses feature 34” scale and 6-bolt necks.

Schecter Raiden Special BCH

The Raiden Special has a body of basswood with a quilted maple top and a 24 X Jumbo fret Rosewood board with a maple neck. The Special also features the coil tappable Schecter Super Rock pickups, giving players the ability to sound great for many different styles.

Schecter Raiden Elite TSB

The Raiden Elite, available in 4 or 5-string, features a multi laminate Maple and Walnut neck. EMGHZ pickups in addition to an EMG Active 2 Band EQ with selectable frequencies and a master blend control allow bassists to shape and define their own sound perfectly.

Schecter Raiden Elite 5 BCH

Both basses are equipped with Schecter’s top load or string thru body-designed bridge to give players the right tension for drop-tuning. The Raiden Special, available in Black Cherry, will have and MSRP of $499. The Raiden Elite 4 will go for $779, and the 5-string version will be sold for $849 and will be available in Tobacco Sunburst and Black Cherry finishes.
