Genz-Benz Unveils New Amps at NAMM 2011

Genz-Benz unveiled three new amps at the NAMM show, including two in the new Streamliner series and an update to the ShuttleMax line.

Sporting a retro look and feel, the Streamliner 900 and 600 amps have straight-ahead controls, allowing players to “focus more on their playing and less on adjusting knobs.”

The models feature Class A Six Stage All Tube preamps and Class D power amps, rated at 900 and 600-watts respectively. The Streamliners also include GB’s proprietary 3 Dimensional Power Management analog technology.

Genz-Benz explains that “3DPM” adds “heft” to individual notes while enhancing responsiveness and headroom.

The ShuttleMax 9.2 is a hybrid amp that builds off the ShuttleMax 12, featuring dual FET and TUBE channels, a 4-band EQ with parametric mids, and a 900-watt Class D power amp. Like the Streamliner, it includes GB’s “3DPM” technology. The amp weighs in at 9 lbs, and includes a 5-position footswitch.
