Zander Zon: Looking Glass
It has been a while since we featured Zander Zon and his nifty piccolo bass compositions. Here’s a new video featuring one of this tunes from Zander’s album Sonorous, entitled “Looking Glass”. (read our review of the album).

Very lyrical, haunting tune. If Metheny played bass, it would sound like this. Brilliant composition, Zander.
A 4 string piccolo bass… those four strings are tuned to the same octave as the low four string on a Baritone guitar right? EADG but an octave above the regular bass, and one octave below a guitar, right?
A guitar IS an octave above the bass. A bass IS an octave below the guitar.
Adam Lewis I thought the bass was Two octaves below… Otherwise the Baritone guitars would have no room to tune.
Spencer Venne The baritone guitar is usually tuned a fourth(B E A D F? B) or a fifth(A D G C E A) than a regular guitar. I think our boy Zander is tuned an octave above a baritone. But I could be wrong :-)

Fair enough.. I feel lkind of stupid now.
Spencer Venne I didn’t mean to make you feel stupid bro! I apologize if I made you feel that way.
