The Big 4 to Perform at Yankee’s Stadium
The Big 4 tour will be making its second U.S. stop at Yankee’s Stadium in Bronx, New York on September 14th. The show, which has been hyped for the last four years, brings together four of the biggest metal bands – Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.
The groups, of course, are in turn held down by four of the strongest metal bassists around. Metallica has Robert Trujillo, Megadeth reconnected with David Ellefson last year, Slayer’s Tom Araya does double duty with bass and vocals, and Anthrax’s Frank Bello’s energy is undeniable.
In an interview with the NY Hard Rock Examiner, Araya spoke on the magnitude of the event.
“We’re talking about four groups that have been around for 30 years, to some extent, and it’s a gathering of four tribes… To me it’s pretty special and it says a lot about the music that the four bands created and we’re a part of, that we’ve lasted this long and to some extend are still going strong.”
Though the show has been touring around the world, they’ve only made one other stop in the U.S. in Indio, California during April. There is no word yet about further American concerts.
