Carvin Introduces MB210 Combo Bass Amp

Carvin MB210 Combo Bass AmpCarvin has added a 210 model to their micro bass combo amp series. The MB210 carries an internal head unit, a pair of 10” speakers, and a neodymium titanium tweeter, all while weighing a mere 36 pounds.

Alone, the MB210 delivers 200W at 8 ohms, but can push up to 250W at 4 ohms with the addition of an 8 ohm extension speaker. Features on the combo are in line with the rest of the series and include a compressor, Contour and Drive controls, a tweeter switch, a mute switch, and a tuner/headphones jack. For EQing, the combo offers bass and treble knobs with a pair of parametric mid controls. The MB210 also has a direct out that has a separate level control in addition to a ground switch and a post/pre option.

Interestingly enough, the combo has optional vinyl choices, including Python Snakeskin, Vintage Tweed, Hot White Bronco, Country Western, and more. Carvin says custom coverings require an extra 3-10 business days to be built.

The Carvin MB210 is shipping now, with a price tag of $399. For more info, visit the Carvin website.

Smart move, Carvin. Gigging bassists need a big rig AND a mini-rig for small rooms.

  2. Richard Carpenter

I have the MB10 and it is Great, this can only be that much Better.

  3. The power plug should be on the backside of the cabinet

  4. where’s the aux input? That’s why I have an Ampeg to practice on.

  5. I REALLY need one of these! Getting to old to be lugging 80 pounds up and down the stairs. Ugh…

  6. I ordered one to take the place of my beloved GK 700RB II and Avatar non-neo 2X10 cab (105 lbs total with power conditioner and rack case) to save my back, energy and time. I have PA support 99.99% of the time so I don’t need a big amp. I ordered the Python covering. I hope no PETA people throw their drinks at me. It’s vinyl people, relax. Will post on TalkBass after I get it and have played it for awhile.

  7. Going to check out that 210 this Sat. I’d like to get try the older redline model as well.

  8. Bought one a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is “AWESOME”.
I’ve been an Ampeg man for years but the portability and sound of this thing is unbelievable and weighs less than my Ampeg head.
