Van Halen Releases North American Tour Date Schedule

Van Halen 2012 North American TourAfter putting out a teaser last week, Van Halen has released their tour schedule for what will be their first outing since their 2007-’08 “reunion” tour.

The current lineup includes David Lee Roth as well as Alex and Eddie Van Halen, with Eddie’s son Wolfgang Van Halen on bass. Wolfgang of course replaced longtime VH bassist and current Chickenfoot bassist Michael Anthony, after a falling out between the band and Anthony.

The tour, which will support an upcoming album, will span North America. The 45-date trek kicks off February 18, 2012 at the KFC Yum! Center (editor’s note: how much crazier can these venue names get?) in Louisville, Kentucky, before heading north for a couple dates at New York’s Madison Square Garden, then skipping between the U.S. and Canada.

The final date listed is June 26th at the New Orleans Arena, though we imagine the group will add more dates before it is over.

For a preview, check out this fan footage of the unreleased song “She’s the Woman,” taken from their intimate performance at New York City’s Cafe Wha?. Luckily, it was taken close to Wolfgang and clearly presents his playing.

    Wolflgang is awesome…

  2. It doesn’t take but a few bars to clearly see the influence of Eddy in Wolfgang’s approach. He’s tight and keeps it right in the pocket while supporting dad and providing a solid bottom for Alex. Talk about a family that plays together stays together, huh? VH is clearly back with a new sound and somehow DLR seems to have a different approach now as well. If “She’s the Woman” is an indication of what is to come, I’m there! Wolfgang already shows the discipline. Is VH his first gig?
