Mesa Boogie Introduces Traditional Powerhouse Bass Cabinets
Mesa Boogie has introduced a new line of bass cabinets called the Traditional Powerhouse Series that offers up 2×10, 4×10, 1×15, 6×10, and 8×10 speaker configurations. Each of the cabs are handbuilt in Petaluma, California with Marine-grade Baltic Birch and are covered with Black Bronco Vinyl with a gray and black weave jute grille.
The 2×10, 4×10, and 1×15 models all feature aviation style bracing, which Mesa explains is borrowed from the aircraft industry. They also have a tri-ported design to enhance each part of the bass spectrum. Besides their Traditional Powerhouse speaker, the three models are loaded with a custom Mesa high frequency horn controlled with an L-pad attenuator on the back of the cab.
The larger 6×10 and 8×10 models feature chambered construction and aim to emphasize low-mid punch while maintaining balance across the frequency range. To accommodate for transportation, they have the Tilt & Roll system with hand-truck style handles on top with rear glide rails.
The Mesa Boogie Traditional Powerhouse Bass Cabinet Series is available now, with prices ranging from $599 to $1399. For more info, check out the Mesa Boogie website.

What? Traditional bass cabs, and no 12″ speakers?
All Bass!! Oh Yeah!
Hmmm – almost all 10s. Maybe they’re meant to be used with a sub – lol…
10’s cut and a 15″ for warmth. Pretty much rounds it out.
I like it got to try it out.
