Willy González Nuevo Trío: Zamba del pañuelo

I’ve been on a traditional folk music kick, so this video of 6-string bassist Willy González and his Nuevo Trio struck a chord with me. Here the group plays their version of Argentinian folk composer Gustavo “Cuchi” Leguizamón’s “Zamba del pañuelo”.

The interplay between the musicians is superb and is matched in elegance by a pair of dancers for a complete performance.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.

  1. Also featuring Willy González, don’t miss out Raul Carnota’s “Reciclón”. Wenever I play it, it goes around 2 or 3 times in a row.

    Greetings from Argentina!

  2. That was really really good. Wow.

  3. What a sound! Does anyone know what kind of bass this is?
