Bass of the Week: Datum RM Series
The upper horn on the Datum RM Series bass may look cool, but it’s there for more than looks. The G-shape adds more contact between the body and neck, essentially giving the benefits of a singlecut bass to double cutaway design.
Handmade in Italy, each bass is available with several options, including the number of strings, fretted or fretless, and medium or long scale. The neck-through construction features a 5- or 7-piece neck of maple and padauk with a mahogany or maple body. Top wood options are maple, rosewood, or olive while the fingerboard can be maple, ebony, or rosewood.
The pickups and electronics are Datum Custom. The bass is rounded out with a Hipshot A Style bridge and Gotoh tuners.

beautiful bass… but I’m thinking there should be 2 “basses of the week”. the “bass of the week” and the “bass of the week that mere mortals that don’t work as CEOs can afford”. sorry if that sounds cynical.
I hear you Craig, and we’ll work on that. Thanks for the feedback!
