Osiamo Introduces Dr. J Effects Pedal Series

Osiamo has launched the Dr. J line of effects pedals, which the company describes as bringing reasonable prices to the “boutique” market. The series includes three stompboxes aimed at bassists: the D-55 Aerolite Comp, the D-53 Sparrow Driver & DI, and the D-52 Soloman Bass Overdrive. All of the pedals feature true bypass switching, a metal housing, and DC power.

Dr. J D-55 Aerolite Comp Pedal

The Aerolite compressor pedal starts with an Input switch to toggle between High, Middle, and Low Input levels. Its controls include a COMP knob for setting the amount of compression and sustain, an Attack knob to control the dynamic and touch-sensitive attack, a Mix knob to set the blend of original and compressed signals, and an Output knob. Osiamo notes that by setting the Mix control to its minimum, the pedal functions as a nice boost.

Dr. J D-53 Sparrow Driver & DI Pedal

Next, the Sparrow Driver & DI aims to capgure the sound of a mic’d classic tube bass amp. Controls include Drive, High and Low Frequency, HF Harmonics, and Mix knobs. Along with analog cabinet emulation circuitry, the Sparrow has an XLR output for DI with a parallel 1/4” output to connect to your amp.

Finished in bright yellow, the Soloman Bass Overdrive is “designed for the modern bass player” with tones for rock to metal. The controls keep it simple with a 3-way Tone Switch for overall warm, bright, and normal tones in addition to Level and Drive knobs to dial in your sound.
