Ampeg Revamps BA Series Bass Combo Amps
Ampeg’s iconic BA series of bass combos is getting a facelift this year, the company announced for Musikmesse 2014. The lineup has been completely re-envisioned with new versions for the BA-108, BA-110, BA-112, BA-115 and BA-210 models.
Each of the models now has front-facing controls and a true sixty degree monitoring angle so they can be set up as a wedge. Another big new feature is the addition of the Bass Scrambler overdrive circuit, which is available on the BA-110 and larger models. Ampeg says the circuit delivers a “classic tube-like grind” and can be tweaked with separate drive and blend controls. It can be switched on and off and is foot-swichable on the BA-112 and larger models.
Other common features to the series include a 3-Band EQ, a 1/8” aux input, and a 1/8” stereo output. The BA-112 and BA-115 step things up to include the company’s Ultra Hi and Ultra Low switches. Rated at 450 watts, the BA-210 is the largest of the series and adds a -15dB input pad, an extension speaker output, and a dedicated XLR balanced line out.
Ampeg’s newly designed BA Bass Combo series will start shipping this Summer with MSRPs ranging from $139.99 to $699.99.

i’ve been playing a 2000 model ba210sp for the last 5 years, and it’s worked like a champ for me….i can only imagine how much they’ve improved
I’ve got my eye on the 210, and will wait until it’s out and reviewed by the crowd before making my big move.
the 210 looks amazing, but a question, do they sound simmular to the ba115u
Disapointing 75 watts for the 112. Other brands have up to 200 watts through a 12.
I assume they sound great, but I have a feeling they are going to leave a lot of folks wanting. Having only a 3 band EQ option is kind of lame, considering a lot of other companies are utilizing a 4 band now. 150 watts in a 15” combo is also a little lack luster. Most people I would assume would be eyeing the 2×10, which is looking nice.
