Bass of the Week: Soame Custom Guitars PJ435
Sometimes you see photos of a bass posted on Facebook, and you just have to stop to check it out. This gorgeous Soame Custom Guitars PJ435 bass was one of those for me.
Handmade in Argentina, the bass features a Northern ash body and a bookmatched flamed maple top that really pops thanks to a stunning Bahama Blue satin finish.
The hard maple neck is topped with a birdseye maple fingerboard which stands as a stark contrast to the bass’s black satin pickguard and hardware. It has an extended 35-inch scale with 22 frets. This particular bass is tuned to B, E, A, and D; a fourth lower than standard tuning.
The pickups are a set of EMG PJ4’s matched with an Aguilar OBP-2 preamp. Hardware includes Hipshot Ultralite tuners, a Hipshot aluminum A Style Bridge, and a brass nut.

Simply wonderful… =Q__
Uh, 5 semitones (B – E) is a fourth, not a fifth.
Uh, E-B is a fifth.
Thanks for the catch.
