Ford has taught at the Musician’s Institute and colleges and played with a wealth of R&B artists including Al Jarreau, James Ingram, Whitney Houston, and Chaka Khan. He’s also the man behind the Blues Bass Survival Guide video course.

His career began in R&B, and in his course, he breaks down the styles of the genre’s greats, like James Jamerson, Larry Graham, Duck Dunn, Chuck Rainey, and Marcus Miller.

    I think R&B and Soul always have the most interesting bass lines, and these R&B grooves are definitely very good. Any time you hear Rocco Prestia, Larry Graham, and James Jamerson mentioned together, you know it can only be some of the best sounding bass around. Definitely looking forward to diving in.
