Jack Bruce was for many years within the tight circle of my strongest influences/inspirations..several others shared that circle, but none was higher..back in 1980, when he was touring with Conham, Sancious, and Clempson, they played Harpo’s when it was still a room you could hear great music in..I had the unbelievable good fortune to be invited up to his hotel room, where I talked with him for over two hours, tape recorder capturing his beautiful Scotish brogue..I was doing my show Not For Musicians Only for WRIF at the time, and had interviewed Billy and David that afternoon..the conversation was filled with Jazz and Blues references, but not enough Rock content to make WRIF happy, so they never played any of it..since my talk with Billy and David was in the studio, RIF owned that BUT since I interviewed Jack on my crappy little recorder, I owned that..about a year and a half later I found myself publishing a magazine and decided that was a perfect venue for finally getting the interview out there..if I can find a way of uploading the interview here, would anyone be interested in reading it?
