Stanley Clarke and Sidiki Diabaté: The Meeting
We love it when different styles come together to make something new. Here’s a unique and beautiful clip sent to us by our Facebook friend “Ladyblue Utrecht” of bass master Stanley Clarke performing with Malian kora player Sidiki Diabaté.
The kora is a traditional west African harp-like instrument with 21 strings. Clarke meshes with Diabaté’s rhythms perfectly to create a smooth and intriguing groove.

man, this is so nice. never heard of a dora. when i first saw it, i thought is was a percussion instrument. then i heard some strings. super melodic. love what he does with the wah. amazing. and, of course, salute to the bass master.
Acoustic ear candy, it’s oh so schweeeet : )

I wish their was an entire album of that.
I also wish there was an edit button.

Beautiful music
Nice and peaceful!
Absolutely fine !! The beautiful thing about music is how it truly is a universal language .The instruments may be different , but the communication is always there in some way .Love it.

gorgeous song, absolutely unreal musicianship. I had to watch it a couple times just to figure out what Clarke was doing. thanks for sharing this.
