Vulfpeck: Christmas in L.A.

Vulfpeck is one of our favorite bands around here. So when Jack Stratton emailed me there was a Christmas video, I couldn’t wait to share it.

“This song follows true Dartonian Physics,” Jack shared, referencing Vulfpeck bassist Joe Dart. “Meaning, groove for two minutes and then freak out during the last 1/8th of the song.”

As if that wasn’t enough, they also had guitar legend David T. Walker play along.

“When David T. was overdubbing I asked him which bassists he like playing with on those L.A. Motown sessions (Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye) and he said, ‘I liked them all. I like this bassist!’” Jack added.

We dig all those bassists too.

The track is available on iTunes and Bandcamp.

Gotta dig the Vulf… Joe Dart is quite soulful.
