Spector Introduces Legend Neck-Thru Basses for 2015
Spector has expanded their Legend series with a new neck-thru model. Available in four- and five-string versions, the Legend4 and Legend5 Neck-Thru basses feature the company’s NS body shape with maple wings and either a bubinga top with natural matte finish or a figured maple top with a faded blue gloss finish.
The 3-piece maple neck is reinforced with graphite rods and topped with a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets. Each version of the bass is loaded with Aguilar DCB pickups as well as an OPB-2 preamp except the four-string maple top, which has Aguilar P/J pickups. Other features include a heavy duty Legend Standard bridge, dot inlay position markers, and black hardware.
The Spector Legend4 Neck-Thru and Legend5 Neck-thru basses are crafted in their Korean factory. They carry list prices of $1,899 for the four-string version and $1,999 for the five-string.

If I were a luthier (I’m only a humble bassist) I would design a neck-thru where the truss rod extends the full length of the body. I’d put the adjustment point at the nut/headstock. Until then, I’ll stick with my bolt-on Fenders. I truly think that design would be a game changer.
Sorry Brock, but I don’t understand the usefulness, for a truss-rod in the entire body, passing by the joint-neck. Would you adjust the relief also for the body?
