Tech 21 Boost Comp Pedal Now Shipping
After announcing the pedal at this year’s NAMM Show, Tech 21 is now shipping the Boost Comp. The all-analog compressor utilizes FET-based technology, which the company says is inherently warm, while simplifying the controls for easy tweaking.
The pedal offers pre and post-effect tone shaping capability with its Presence and Tone controls. Presence adds a pre-compression tonal boost in the high frequencies for extra attack and clarity, while the Tone knob adjusts a post-compression boost/cut to “generate a mellower, more lush tone without getting too dark.” The Boost section works post-effect and can be used independently to deliver up to 21dB of clean boost to your output signal.
The Tech 21 Boost Comp pedal can run on either a 9-volt battery or an optional DC power supply. It’s available now with a street price of $149.99.
