AC Guitars Introduces the Krell Kompakt Bass
Luthier Alan Cringean has introduced a new bass to his AC Guitars line that’s based on a model from his other brand, Reiver Guitars. The Krell Kompakt is a 32-inch scale bass with a new body shape.
The first version of the bass is part of the AC Guitars Uber Series. As such, it’s built with several upgrades including an ART (Acrylic Resin Treated)Maple Burl Dual Dyed top with a Black Limba body, a five-piece wenge and maple neck, and an Indian ebony fingerboard. Its fretless fingerboard uses aluminum for the side and face dots with partial fretlines.
For electronics, Cringean fits the Krell Kompakt with his ACG Dual Filter Modular 4K preamp with ACG MC6 multi-coil pickups. An added features I the East low battery indicator. Finally, the instrument is rounded out with ETS tuning and bridge units with a custom ACG headpiece.
AC Guitars Uber Series basses start at approximately $3,500.

Damn sexy. AC’s stuff is great and he’s got a 2nd generation Armstrong doing his pickups. Now, if I only had a few extra Gs laying around, I’d pick myself up one.
