MXR Unveils the M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor Pedal

MXR M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor PedalMXR has expanded their bass pedal lineup with the M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor. The new stompbox offers their Dyna Comp sound in a bass-centric format that includes a clean control for maintaining your low end. It’s also tiny.

MXR bass product specialist Darryl Anders gave us the scoop at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show. “The way things are on airlines, the more weight and space you can save, the better. Our engineers have just figured out a way to make it this small and sound just as good or better,” he said. “It’s got the same CA3080 circuit in it as the regular Comp. The Tone control is right around 1kHz so you can dial back in that high end that you lose with compression. The clean blend gives you a little more dynamics back, and the Attack switch toggles between a fast and slow attack time, which will also give you more dynamics and transparency. It’s a lot simpler than the M87, but it’s much easier to operate.”

The MXR M282 Dyna Comp Bass Compressor is powered by either a 9-volt battery or a 9-volt power supply. It will be available mid-February with a price point of $149.99.
