Arkham Sound Introduces The Beast of Both Worlds Bass Amp

Arkham Sound The Beast of Both Worlds Bass Amp

Arkham Sound has expanded its lineup of bass products with The Beast of Both Worlds, which is a Class D/Tube hybrid amplifier that delivers 1200 watts into 4 ohms. Its preamp section features a 12AX7 tube that they say offers “good tone and low microphonics.”

Its control set includes a James Tonestack with Gain, Treble, and Bass knobs. The Range control sweeps the tone stack’s midpoint between 150Hz and 1kHz while Hi, Mid, and Lo switches offer bumps at their respective frequencies. It also has a high pass filter switch and an Integrated Subsonic Filter, which is an active, 24dB/Octave high pass filter set at 30 Hz. “[It] tames low-frequency cone excursion, allowing for more power and clarity in the audio band,” Arkham explains. “Filtering and buffering handled with premium Burr-Brown Op Amps.”

Other features include a mute switch, a balanced DI output with volume, Preamp out and power amp in jacks, and Speakon combo speaker jacks. The Arkham Sound Beast of Both Worlds is built in southern Maine using turret board construction and a heavy gauge aluminum chassis. It’s available for order now at $1,650.
