Jason Raso recently sent us this video, and it is a ton of fun. Thanks to a hilarious intro, we learned that Jason’s goal back in 1991 was to record with Stuart Hamm. 28 years later, it happened.

Elvis Presley’s big comeback in 1969 began with a run of 57 sold-out shows in Las Vegas. It was the dawn of a new era, thanks in part to a new band, including session bassist Jerry Scheff. The new “Elvis: Live 1969” release features 11 complete sets.

Quilter Labs has announced a new modular amp system called the BassDock system. The series includes two compact cabinets – the BassDock 10 and the BassDock 12 – that are both rated at 400 watts.

Bass legend Mike Watt has announced a new project with guitarist/singer Todd Congelliere called Jumpstarted Plowhards. The band will be releasing their first album, “Round One,” on October 4th with four more albums planned.

This week we’re checking out a cool six-string bass, but it’s not what you think. Dallas Seger of Seger Guitars posted a six-string version of his DC Bass that doubles up on the low strings.

Steve Lawson is releasing his latest album, “The Arctic Is Burning,” on September 2nd, and he’s just shared the closing track. The chill tune offers up a lot of interesting sounds along the way.

While Woodstock 50 has been officially canceled, there are plenty of great celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the infamous music festival. That includes the long-awaited release of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s set from the event.

Sublime with Rome released their third album, “Blessings,” last month and now they’re hitting the road to support it. Bassist Eric Wilson - the sole remaining Sublime with Rome member - will be on the tour.

Vox has introduced the Mini Superbeetle Bass. The new amp is a compact tribute to the company’s 1960s models and comes equipped with a Nutube analog preamp circuit.
